OUR GIGS.
Rebel, our first Pilot Gig, was launched on the 29th of June 2008. She was built by Gail McGarva, and is the first gig
built by a women. The name Rebel harks from the Monmouth Rebellion when, in 1685, James Scott, the Duke of Monmouth,
and illegitimate son of Charles II, landed at Lyme Regis and gathered an army in an attempt to overthrow King James II.
The rebellion failed, and James II called Lyme Regis a "rebellious town".

Black Ven, our second Gig, was launched in August 2009. She was once again built by Gail, and is named after the Fossil
rich cliffs to the east of the town, which make up part of the Jurassic coast World Heritage site.
